Jonathan Joss, Voice of John Redcorn, Dies at 59 in Shooting

Jonathan Joss, best known for voicing John Redcorn, was fatally shot Sunday night in San Antonio.

Police found Joss shot multiple times near the road. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The shooter fled but was captured a block away and booked for murder. The investigation is ongoing.

Joss’s husband, Tristan de Gonzales, said the shooting followed years of homophobic harassment.

Their home had burned down after threats. On the day of the shooting, they returned to check mail.

They found the skull and harness of one of their dogs, left in clear view, causing deep distress.

A man approached, yelled slurs, then shot Joss. “Jonathan pushed me out of the way,” said de Gonzales.

Joss had voiced John Redcorn from Season 2 to 13, and for the upcoming King of the Hill revival.

He had just appeared at the ATX TV Festival days before his death, sharing about his recent struggles.

Show creators said: “His voice will be missed... We extend our deepest condolences to his loved ones.”

Joss also appeared in Parks and Recreation, Tulsa King, Ray Donovan, True Grit, and more.

Jonathan Joss leaves behind a legacy of talent, courage, and love. He will be deeply missed.
