A live-action adaptation of The Legend of Zelda is officially underway, and fans are eagerly speculating about who will bring the iconic characters to life on the big screen.

According to insider Daniel Richtman, actress Hunter Schafer is reportedly being considered for the role of Princess Zelda in the upcoming movie adaptation.

Fans have praised Schafer's resemblance to Zelda, pointing to her elegant features and ethereal presence that match the legendary princess from the video game series.

Schafer gained acclaim playing Jules in HBO’s Euphoria, and also appeared in The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, showcasing a versatile and emotionally rich performance

In 2023, Schafer said playing Zelda would be “so cool,” recalling how much she enjoyed playing The Legend of Zelda games as a kid.

As of now, no official casting decisions have been made. Other possibilities remain, including Zelda’s voice actress Patricia Summersett expressing interest in playing her live-action version.

Percy Jackson star Walker Scobell is a fan favorite for Link, though he’s unsure about taking on the role. He’s played Breath of the Wild, thanks to his dad.

Maze Runner director Wes Ball will helm the project. Shigeru Miyamoto and Avi Arad are producing, ensuring strong creative leadership for the long-awaited adaptation.

Nintendo has confirmed that The Legend of Zelda live-action movie will premiere in theaters on March 26, 2027, giving fans a date to mark on their calendars.

While casting details remain under wraps, the potential of Hunter Schafer as Princess Zelda has fans buzzing with excitement. Could she truly be the one? Time will tell.
