A man was kidnapped and tortured for weeks over his Bitcoin wallet.
John Woeltz, 37, was arrested for kidnapping, assault, and weapons charges.
The 28-year-old victim had traveled to NYC from Italy in early May.
He was imprisoned in an 8-bedroom Manhattan home and brutally tortured.
Victim was drugged, shocked with wires, and beaten with a gun.
At one point, he was dangled over a stair ledge and told he'd die.
His captors wanted access to his Bitcoin, stored on his laptop.
He escaped after pretending to cooperate and ran for help.
Cocaine, weapons, body armor, and disturbing photos were found inside.
Court records mention an “unapprehended male” also part of the plan.
Judge denied bail; Woeltz allegedly has access to private aircraft.
He’s due back in Manhattan criminal court next week as case unfolds.
