A tornado touched down in Pulaski County late Friday night, moving toward Laurel County at 45 mph. Emergency crews were dispatched as warnings lit up the region.
The Weather Authority warned residents in mobile homes to evacuate immediately. Those in London and Pulaski County were urged to find sturdy shelter as the tornado approached.
By 1 a.m., the Laurel County Fiscal Court reported a tornado had “pummeled” the area, sharing images of twisted metal, broken trees, and overturned vehicles.
Corbin police asked for prayers after witnessing extensive tornado damage. Officers were visibly emotional responding to aid calls in debris-covered neighborhoods.
